COP - Practical Work - Rational for My Practical Work

For the body of practical work for COP the aim is to produce a piece of work that reflect and relates to our essay. The question selected for this brief is 'What is the role of print Media in the digital age'. Foe this we have to produce practise based research into the subject are, this will con site of discovering and generating knowledge associated with this topic. This has to establish a critical understand of the issue, practise-based research acknowledge the more phyical of making and visual combination via a combination. This means the work will have to link to our essay and be a form of visual research we conduct to help our essay conclude.

Rational for My Practical Work 

The question for the essya picked is  'What is the role of print Media in the digital age', in the essay the conclusion come to that the role of print media in the new more digital age is to work with digital, both method have their benefits and disadvantages but they work best when used together. Both digital and Print medias have industries that relay on their techniques, print still has a large influence in the magazine industry for example, even though these articles can be gain digital now which maybe have its advantages this not always preferred. The response to this brief should explore how these styles work together to produce the best out comes. The content of the research will include artists that use print media, magazine that use print media, different print media techniques, the advantages/disadvantages to both digital and print medias and the different features of both production methods. For research into magazine i will visit the library which has a large collection go magazine and the village bookstore in leeds, this sells a large amount of magazines and to explore how this is done and why still int the current age they appeal to the market. I also aim to take part in a few of the different print techniques to see the disadvantages/benefits first hand.To research the work i see why current artists use the print techniques and how it enhances/effect their work, why they pick this technique and  to see if this improve the quality or popularity of their work. I aim to use the different forms of print in my final outcome to show the benefits of this styles so i will develop more research as i create developments for this final outcome, creating tests/samples throughout. I aim to have a final concept/idea that i will work of for the 19 of February, this will give me time to receive critically evaluation, create test and use the college facilities to the best of my ability to produce the outcome.

The main focus of the essay was how print is used now digital is more popular fastest way to communicate which was the basic use for print, the easy focus on how people prefer physical print of items at times and way. It also look in depth into the production of new indie magazine and their rinse in recent years,  this is because with the use of digital design people can create, sent and develop a magazine a lot easier than in the past. Now basically anyone can create a magazine where are in the older days it had to be done by a professional. There are new magazine/zines being created by anyone on any subject areas, this had lead to an increase in print as these are being created fast/easier so they can be printed fast whereas years ago it would have taken months to produce the same amount of work.Also now companies are sending out magazine with their design features as more a aesthetically purpose rather than needed document , people can order online now a they don't need a  catalogue but these are being produces as a newer way to showcase companies greater designs/photograph and send them directly to an audience, they can be designed less for practical use but more creating interest.
