Eye is the world’s most beautiful and collectable graphic design journal, published quarterly for professional designers, students and anyone interested in critical, informed writing about design and visual culture. Its a magazine created to showcase beautiful design and innovative design concepts, its a massive influences on the design business as its very popular with designer and creative, it can influence a wide range of audeince design work whilst inspiring more creative work.
I came around this magazine via the Facebook page, the page shares the covers weekly and posts a collection of work for time to time. The page has shown covers that include many different styles, design for selected movements, wide range of techniques, unusual colour schemes that i can apply to my design work and my style.
This is style of magazine is the indie brand that relays on print techniques along with digital editing to create its style, its published only as a physical copy so relays heavily on printing whist the layout/design is created digitally. I will look into recreating this style of cover using either monoprint or etching then editing it digitally, or compare both ways of working.

Benefits of Creating a Mono Print
This cover will be mono printed then edited digitally, for this i will experiment with different form and shapes to create the style of cover that mimic this very abstract swish style they stikc too, the aim is to produce a cover that could work for this brand therefore it will need to stick to the style of art they select currently. Mono print has been chosen for this cover as it reflect the same bold bright colours that are seen thought the work in the work along with the strong block patterns/form used in this covers, different colour layer can be over lapped to create colour mixes. The aim for this mono print is to create a piece that follows this abstract edgy style, aiming for a cover that will interest an artist audeince using the strong vivid colours seen in these covers (green, yellow, blue and red) with complex design that can be alter digitally to create a cover in the style of brand.
CREATE MONO PRINT THEN EDIT DIGITALLY
Creating a manual mono print for this rather than just creating s digital cover is that with experimental work mono prints can create a outcome different to intended, the overlapping print build up in a way that cant be created digitally as each time its different.
This print style cannot produce predicted outcomes, this means that every time a print is created it is different, it has mistakes but these enhance the design, this will allow total artists freedom to create a one off cover that cant be repeated.
ONE OFF COVER AS IT MONO PRINTED/CANT BE RECREATED
MORE OGRINAL/CREATIVE PIECE PRODUCE AS THE MERTIAL INTEACT IN A DIFFERENT WAY
Benefits of Editing the Mono Print
Editing to print digitally will allow the logo/house style to be added to digitally which will allow it to fit clearly with the other magazines making it representable, this means it can be noticed at the cover due to association with the brand. This is an advantange of digital as work can be applied to a grid or basic set layout easily to create the cover with a common design aspect each time, this will also be accurate logo that match every time where mono print produced different effect each time. Digital makes it easier for the designers to create a solid branding identity for company that can be applied to piece of work or cover, the accurate logo can easier be applied over the design for this cover when its be edited to produce a useable cover for this magazine.
CAN APPLY A BRANDING EASIER/HOUSE STYLE CORRECTLY
Another advantage of digital editing for this cover is that colours, shapes, effect can all be changed quickly, where as when printing to change colour would take longer and be messy, designer can directly alter the colour of a piece but keeping the design exactly the same which would be hard/impossible to do via mono as the print would be different each time even if just the colour was changed their would be differences. This makes it easier and quicker for designer to experiment with different colour schemes or change aspects of the design without having to redo the print which takes time and money.
FASTER TO CHANGE FEATURES (COLOURS, EFFECT, SIZE)
Also using photoshop mistakes can be fixed/the images alter which can't be done to the prints with out aid of this software, it allow prints that have messed up/gone wrong to be fixed as they can be altered to fix the errors. With out the use of this software the prints would have to be done against which takes a large amount of time and the print produced would against be slightly different, so if a print has ben finished but has a small mistake digital media allows this to be fixed.
CAN FIX MISTAKES
